The Sandy Springs location of My Friend's Place is the restaurant's original location. It was opened by David & Rosalind Katz in 1980, with the goal of providing a warm, friendly atmosphere in which customers would feel "at home," as well as light, delicious food.

Dan Forrestal is the owner of My Friend's Place Sandy Springs. He recently bought the restaurant, in February of 2005, from Steve Langell, who successfully ran the restaurant for the past 3 years.

Dan comes to the restaurant business after many years in the online e-commerce industry, and made the change after having been a regular customer for over 20 years. Dan lives in Sandy Springs with his wife and 3 children.
